Your List Is Like Money In The Bank

Making money online is easy.
All you need is a computer with an internet connection and a product to sell.
Find lots of people that want to buy your product and you have a business.
It sounds simple but for the hundreds of millions of people who set up online businesses, statistically, only 13% of them will ever make any money. You might have the best product, the best offer the fastest growing company or opportunity in the world but if you can't get it seen by customers who want to buy then you will be waiting a long time to make any money.
List building is one of the fundamental aspects of building a business and it's also one of the most neglected.
List building is not complicated but it is something that must be approached in a systematic manner.
Firstly you need an auto-responder and then you need a series of follow-up letters that provide relevant information to either back up your offer or promote your opportunity.
Building your list means you need a capture page or squeeze page. This is where you collect the information that goes into your auto-responder.
By collecting this data, usually name, phone number, and email address you then have complied with the SPAM laws. This is vital to ensure that you can stay in business.
No-one likes SPAM and you need to make sure that you adhere closely to these.
Make sure that your offer follows the advertising in your capture page and that your follow up offers/letters are relevant. I received an email from an alternative power list I am on and it was promoting something totally not related to off grid energy. I hit the unsubscribe button quickly.
You will also need to have a merchant account set up unless the product you sell already provides you with one. PayPal & Alert Pay are good places to start.
Once the above factors are in place then advertising your offer is the next thing to do.
I always have several forms of advertising running at several times. PPC (pay per click) is a favorite of many. It is quick and easily measurable.
I like Ezine ads. This is effectively renting someone elses list. Those that find your offer appealing will join your list.
SEO (search engine optimization) is another favorite of mine. This one takes time (6 months min) but once you reach a certain level of activity with this then the traffic is free and you can't switch it off even if you wanted to.
The fun part comes when you have spent time building your list around the product or service you are selling.
You have your capture page in place and it's linked to your auto-responder. With the click of the send button you place your offer in front of however many you have in your list of hungry, loyal followers, a percentage of whom will purchase your offer or use your service (providing of course it's value for money).
The bigger your list, and the better your offer, the bigger your check will be.
